this is my new exhibition of nudes, view of the gallery. the exhibition opened friday night, the 5th of march 2010 in a country town, bairnsdale, in victoria, australia. it moves to melbourne on 18 june this year and five images go to Moscow in october.

58 nudes from 14 models, all amateur and all from the country, the exhibition was shot with the RD1S. that was the challenge and it was successful. each image is in an edition of 10, printed on arches canson A3+ (13 x 19") aquarelle rag with an epson r2400. larger images were printed on an epson big thing, same K3 chroma system on rag photographique roll paper. about half the images sold at the opening. aside from six or so images from 1972 to 1999 there are 52 new pictures, which you can see at the web link in my signature.

the clowns and 'waiting room' series are for a new exhibition in october.

this exhibition was also the launch of my new limited run artbook of the images in the exhibition, 100 copies, signed. each model or participant in the project was given a book in exchange for their braveness in being part of this show. no models wanted to be paid. a larger and more comprehensive book of 200+ images is being published in 2012.

this was a ten month project and all images were shot in my small 3 x 6 metre studio. i get end-rolls of lino from the carpet suppliers and odd props from the tip. some i make myself.

it was fun but hard work. at 63 i feel i am doing my best work yet. and more to come.

i hope you enjoy the images. some are a wee bit confronting. nsfw, perhaps.

cheese,

dd (daniel jenkins)

Daniel, it is fantastic that at 63 you are doing this style and that you feel it is your best with more to come - sure beats hanging out at the golf course

CW

yes, well, not sure bairnsdale has changed much but the shire funded $2K for the book project based on it being 'locals' in the pics... it has turned a few heads, woken up a few dead and made its way into a lot of lounge rooms...or blokes' sheds...

...as for hanging out (?) at the golf course, this gives me an idea...

cheers,

dj

Sounds great, Dan, and the images look wonderful. Congratulations! I'll look forward to catching it when it comes to Melbourne - where abouts will it exhibit down here?

Cheers, Phil

thanks for showing us your projects, its inspiring for me to see people getting stuff done, and done well, it was very well put together. And Im glad you didnt use a big dopey dSLR, they are simply too easy to use, great that you challenged yourself with the dRF.
