Hi, all. This is my first real post. After searching high and low for an M2/M3 (and missing a few great deals by a few seconds), I got lucky with a Kijiji ad and picked up an M3 in great condition!
I've been shooting digital for a while now, but have recently rediscovered film...this lead me, like many of you I'm sure, to rangefinders; Leica in particular.
So anyways, here I am, sitting at home, playing with my new (lens-less) Leica, when I hear a knock on the door. My grandfather, who I had been talking about my Leica with, is there with a box. He hands me the box - tells me he had just dug 'it' out of storage, and that 'it' was no Leica but thought I might like it anyways. It was a Braun Paxette with the rangefinder attachment, both in pretty near mint condition!
A bit of tinkering and it was working pretty well. The slow speeds seem to stick, but for outdoor shooting, I think this camera will do nicely. Quite honestly, the coolest thing about it is that he saved up as a 20-something year old and bought it. The case even has his name engraved.
You all know what an M3 looks like, so here's a quick and dirty cell phone picture of the Paxette.
EDIT: Let me switch that picture to a slightly better one, with the M3 in it as well:
So there you have it - I was rangefinder-less 24 hours ago, but now I have two of the neatest ones I've ever seen.
Cheers!

When it rain, it pours. Congrats on your good fortune. Hope to see you out at a Toronto RFF meeting.

It certainly does, and I feel extremely fortunate. I would love to attend an RFF meet, as long as you all don't mind a beginner.
