Results from ECN-2 Vision 500t

SO I have been hearing and seeing some of the wonderful results that people have been getting shooting some of the motion picture stocks and I decided I would try and give it a go. Perhaps one of the biggest issue people have had with these films is that they try to develop the film via a modified c41 process (removing the remjet backing etc), i didnt want to go to the hassle of that so I rang up Parkroad Post in Wellington, New Zealand (Peter Jackson's post production facilities) and they said they would be very happy to develop my films for me and they would even provide a positive print of the pics as well!

So I did some test shots and I bundled up the film to the lab and a week later I got the negatives and positives in the mail. Here are the results. All shot with my Leica M6ttl with a 90mm Elmarit and a 85b filter.

Im loving the results! and I cant wait to shoot more of this stuff!

wow, impressive Kodak colour - reminds me of Kodachrome, but slightly desaturated. The skin tones and the red lipstick are gorgeous.

umm around $30 NZD a roll which includes negatives and positives...so not bad really. I should say that these were all scanned from the positives

It is great stuff, I have a 400ft cake , almost full that i want to sell. I am using Fuji 500 tungsten instead, It goes great in normal C-41 (maco compard kit) as it does not have the remjet backing that is a hassle to get out. If interested send PM ( I have also eastman 160 can, 1/3 away from 400 ft, same story, will sell very cheap)

I thought all Eterna and Reala have Remjet, dont they?😱

No black backing, develop OK in C-41

Very nice results, and processing is not crazy expensive. I don't shoot enough to roll my own, but would certainly shoot 36 exp rolls of this if someone made a little cottage industry of it.

Thats interesting about the fuji stock but Ill think ill stick with kodak at the moment...im just so happy with the results. Trying to push to 1600 now

Interested to hear how you are going to do it? Push process?? lots of color shift. A way to do it is to develop the negative first in BW developer (Acufine) clear the film in Bleach, re develop it in C-41 and have increased speed, extra saturated tonality. Google for Speedibrew c-41 alternative process.
