ALL the 50 Summicrons are great. Different renditions due to specifications as to contrast vs LLM. The only other difference is the "feel" in focusing / aperture movement.

I haven't had the privilege to try other 50mm Summicrons, since the V3 is my first and only Leica M-mount 50mm lens. Seems some people don't like the long focus throw and lack of a focusing tab, but I consider those to be features rather than bugs. 😉
