A la Carte: No MP Panda possible

The other day I saw an "M6 Panda" for sale on ebay. I thought it was a scam or something, I mean, chrome with black fittings? Who the hell thought of this? I absolutely loved it! It was the coolest leica I have seen, looked like my Nikon FM2. Then I found a little on Cameraquest about it, and it said there was nothing special about it, but didn't really give a concrete explanation as to what the Leica factory was thinking. I tried Leica A la Carte, and it won't allow black fittings on chrome bodies. Pretty disappointing, since A la Carte is supposed to customize, and black fittings on chrome aren't precisely an engineering challenge. I mean, they DO allow chrome fittings with black paint, anti-panda. Does anybody know anything else about the Panda?

I think, having already made the anti-panda, a panda Leica is prohibited by physical law. Should they meet, they would mutually annihilate in a flash of energy sufficient to take out a small country or two.

LOL. Maybe they should issue a Einstein's Birthday Edition.

If you're serious about this, you might call Leica Customer Service in Solms directly. They might well accomodate you - at a price. Otherwise just buy two cameras, a black one and a chrome one and swop the parts 😉

What do you call the black camera then? The MP Skunk ?

I think you probably could specify Panda controls by going through an "a la carte" dealer, and they can send Leica your special requests. A guy on Photo.Net reported getting an M6/7 style wind lever in his custom MP. I have an anti-Panda, black-paint, Lizard-look skinned M7 0.58X with old-fashioned script. It's beautiful.

Don't Worry my freind. I read somewhere else how to do it really sheap, well sheaper thah buying a la carte. Leica sells the parts. you yust have to buy a silver leica and then order black parts and get someone to do the job.

It's too late for a Dirac commemorative for his 100th birthday.

I've learned it as Delta Distribution since it doesn't show the properties of a function.

Huy! Not enough english to talk mathematics 🙂

Wikipedia to the rescue:

This is only defined over its integral and thus not a real function.

Imagine something like this:

engraved on a Leica 🙂

Yuck, is that the Schroedinger equation? I seem to recall those greek pokers from physics class...

(But yeah, it would be pretty cool on a top plate!)

close 🙂

It's Diracs equation for a particle without any forces of the mass m in Schrödinger notation.

Boah, that's so long ago! Dirac was still alive when I tried to understand that in school.

Dirac was long gone when I took that class, as was Schrödinger. But his cat was still alive (but I'm not sure...) 😛
