I don't own any Leica M lenses for my M2 and currently use Canon LTM lenses instead. I also own Contax lenses for my post-war IIA (Sonnar 50mm and Triotar 85mm) and Robot lenses for my Royal 36 (Zeiss Sonnar 50mm, Schneider 45mm) and would love to be able to use these on my M2 as well. I have done a little research but haven't found much information about adapting these lenses to M mount or whether it's possible. Has anyone on the forum had success with these lenses on Leica M mount?

You can buy an adapter for some Contax lenses and I believe the Sonnar 50mm is one lens that works on the adapters. Not sure about the 85mm and not sure about the technicalities of adapting a Robot lens. (Do these Robot even provide full 35mm coverage as some Robot bodies are half frame?)

Some are very expensive, though I imagine that the cost would be not much more than having a Contax lens physically adapted to LTM. Also some Russian made ones are much cheaper but I have never investigated whether they are any good.
