Allure of the Leica M2.

all true, there are nothing like the M2's frame lines.. however after more than 20 years with the M6's, frame lines are something one gets used to. I certainly don't consider them a problem and...the added 28mm frame line is a joy after years with the clip ons...

Because of my glasses, I can't see the 28mm framelines in the M6 (.72x magnification), and can barely see them in the M-P (.68x magnification).

While the M2 is nice, for my film M I've settled on the early-production M4-2 as it has 35/50/90/135 frame lines. Anything wider and I either guesstimate framing or use an accessory viewfinder. Early production M4-2 are the same optics as the M4, which don't flare and are a little more forgiving of eye position than the M4-P and M6 frame lines. The only negative is the M4-2 doesn't have the 75mm frame line set and I like the 75mm focal length a lot, but I can live with that.

Because everyone loves some full-frontal nudity 🙂

I'm sure its been said here and elsewhere, but IMO the M2 is the best of the brand...esp the button rewind. So simple and elegant. Oh and I hear it takes nice photos. I hope to keep mine....

Agreed, never been keen on the frame counter personally but that aside my M2 is by far my most used camera simply because it is just so enjoyable to shoot.

Looking through the VF of my M6 or M9 doesn't come close to the M2 with it's bright & uncluttered view. For me it doesn't get any better than the M2 for RF shooting.

Well, since we are getting into M2 portraits:

My little beauty recently CLA'd by Youxin Ye. Smooth like a Leica should be, he says. I also like the mechanical simplicity of the button rewind and the manual reset of the film counter.
