I'm thinking about getting a Leicameter to go with my M3. I like that it's coupled to the shutter speed dial (one less thing to remember), but I can't find any info regarding the maximum ASA film speed that this meter can measure for. A lot of those old meters only go up to 400 or so. I like to shoot 1600 and 3200 sometimes. I know I can meter for 400 and just stop down more, but I'm just wondering what the range on the meter is.

Mine goes up to 3200 ASA. I used some thin adhesive backed felt to cover the bottom where it rests on top the camera. If you don't do this any slight movement of the meter marks the chrome over time.

Haven't used mine in years as it needs a mercury cell and I would rather use a handheld meter anyway.

My MR-4 meter range is 6 to 1600. Very accurate meter and very easy to use on the camera. Made for mercury but all self compensate for 625 alkaline though some will read a stop off.

Also the marks on the body top plate are from installing and removing the meter, not from the meter moving when installed. A really simple fix is to use put a business card between the body and meter when installing and removing.
