BEOON the Leitz Copy Stand

Hm... maybe not all 50mm enlarging lenses are exactly 50mm? The BEOON manual says it can be used with all model Leica cameras and all 50mm Leica lenses, but I wonder if there's also some variation in the exact focal length of Leica 50mm lenses. I have the BEOON manual, so I'll try to post some scans of it later.

Yes my BEOON works fine with the M240 together with the Summilux 50mm f1.4 asph.
I was led down the garden path of the enlarger lenses as they’re designed for flat field performance with edge to edge (acceptable) focus, superior to a camera taking lens such as the summilux 50 f1.4.
Others have mentioned that the focal length of enlarger Lenses are not controlled to the same tolerance as camera lenses, so if we both purchase a Schneider Componon 50mm F2.8 N, for example, you may find your copy works perfectly whilst I might consider it a waste of money.
In simple terms, I thought a 63mm would move the camera and lens further from the negative, so enabling a linear range of column adjustment.

I also use an enlarging lens (old version of the EL-Nikkor 50mm f/2.8), but I digitize with an APS-C Sony digicam. I have a Voigtlander V-ME Macro adapter that helps with a little bit of helicoid extension, but I'm not able to fill the frame at 1:1. Still works very well IMHO. Everything I share on the forum is digitized using the BEOON and my Sony NEX-5T.

Thanks for posting the BEOON manual, dourbalistar. I’m using the BEOON exactly as detailed for 1:1, ie A+D with a 50mm lens. It works A ok with the camera taking lens, but not with the enlarger lenses I’ve tried: Componon S 50mm F2.8 and separately a Nikkor 50 F2.8

Does anyone know of the best/cheapest way to do DSLR scanning? I've been thinking of doing this for awhile. I have a Sony A7II

I was thinking of picking up a Nikon ES-1, macro lens, and 35mm adapter/holder for the es-1 slide duplicator. It doesn't hold 35mm film by default.

The other option is a copy stand, they seem to sell some designed for this purpose but it's pretty bulky and I don't really have the space for it. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good solution for me.

"Best" and "cheapest" are not the same thing, and often divergent. Obviously using the Leica BEOON is one method, but you should also read up on this long Scanning with a digital camera here on RFF.
