Hi,

I just received my Contax Carl Zeiss 45mm lens in the mail which I bought on Ebay. I'm noticing as I give it a shake it seems as if there is a loose part inside? Is this normal? Kind of like when you shake an egg and you sort of feel the yoke.

That doesn't sound right to me.

I don't remember my 45/2 doing that. But I no longer own one, so I can't check.

Check the front and rear lens retaining rings. They may be loose. If the are tight perhaps one of the inner lens element housing is loose.

BTW the lens should not be loose at all! Something is a miss.

It is definitely something loose on the inside. The outside is all screwed on pretty tight.. Where can I get this fixed?

I feel something moving and hear it when I give it a good shake. But If I shook it lightly it is not as noticeable.

I have the same problem, bought it on rff. no problems so far but have not tested it on G2 yet. On sony nex, no problems.

Hi, the AF mech conects via a little metal part to the helicoid in the lens, i remember that whole mech did in fact move when not attached...it felt a little loose but was ok...check if the af system works fine...
