This is incorrect. They strip chrome and nickel with all paint jobs.

Maybe things had changed since early 2017. Then they offered me two different black; gloss enamel and satin (duracoate).

I looked through my old mail and they asked me what I want because: "that determines whether I remove only chrome or both the chrome and nickel. Duracoat won’t brass as such and needs to be painted onto nickel. The enamel is very hard wearing but will eventually brass, hence the nickel will be removed."

It's not important for me to have the last word and they could have come up with new methodes for paint application. Anyhow, ask them if you are about to send them a camera - they should know. 🙂 Alan Starkie was very communicative.

No worries. Alan knows what he's doing! I've sent him several cameras going back to 2016. Looks like he's giving the option, considering the duracoat is, well, durable. 🙂
