Gallery Picks for Week Ending Monday 7 January 2008

Has there been any action taken on that proposal for having the "top-pick" (?) on the front page?

Yes, Pitxu, it was, but nothing done about. Pehaps the Bartender must be asked again?

The answer will be no photos on the front page.

Photos of cameras for sale excepted.

I look at photos every day, but buy a camera once every ten or fifteen years.

Did he say that?

Actually it's a lovely bright glowing light, and I've got a camera with mono film, so I'm sorted.

Now I just need to get to locations and find actors...

OK, I'm going out to the library now, with the M5 and my umbrella. :)

EDIT: and a béret basque. :)

Thank you Mick for mentioning my avatar in "pick of the week". It means a lot to me.:D

"Critique / Salon / Picks / Most Views" seems the most apt place for such a comment.

Are you familiar with Vivian Stanshall? ;)

Hi there, nice to be with you, happy you could stick around.
Like to introduce "Legs" Larry Smith, drums
And Sam Spoons, rhythm pole
And Vernon Dudley Bohay-Nowell, bass guitar
And Neil Innes, piano.
Come in Rodney Slater alto saxophone
With Roger Ruskin Spear on tenor sax.
I, Vivian Stanshall, trumpet

Viv Stanshall, surrealist musician/writer/artist/genius. Google him. I'm sure I'm not the only person who notices a passing resemblance between he and Pitxu.

Please take it as a compliment.

Too much frivilous chit here ... this is about photography remember! :p

I liked this: (and remember being very drunk in Regents Park singing it...)

There once was a very famous man
On his famous horse he'd ride through the land
The people used to see him everywhere
When he died, they put a statue in the square

(hooray)

Here comes the Equestrian Statue
Prancing up and down the square
Little old ladies stop 'n' say
"Well, I declare!"

Once a month on a Friday there's a man
With a mop and bucket in his hand
To him it's just another working day
So he whistles as he rubs and scrubs away

(hooray)

Here comes the Equestrian Statue
Prancing up and down the square
Little old ladies stop 'n' say
"Well, I declare!"

It's a sight to bring you joy, you feel so gay
And it's guaranteed to brighten up your day
If it's gray

(hooray)

Thank you for two mentions today.

It certainly gives a lift to Thursday morning photography and odd light. I've got cloudy sky, and strong sun, and wet sidewalks. And a B&W film to finish in the next hour or so.

No Bonzo Dog today, just Meat Loaf with Bonnie Tyler.

Missed the thread for some time. Perhaps email problems with RFF server.

May be Avatar contest is pending in my mind....

Yes, CameraQuest said no random photos, and back alley has repeated it several times.

Odd for a photography site.

I don't think I'd go to and art gallery site if they talked about brushes and didn't have any pictures.
