I have started a Leica M4-2 Blog, all welcome to view!

This is just silly - David Douglas Duncan, who is one of the few photographers that Leitz ever gave a custom serial number to (serial number M3D), was famous for using non-Leitz glass. From his book <i>Great Treasures of the Kremlin</i> "All of the photographs were taken on Kodachrome with two Leica M3D cameras fitted with Canon, Nikkor and Zeiss-Biogon lenses."

Enjoy your Canon lense. The link to history is one of the enjoyable things about using mechanical cameras like the M4-2.

I have already started using my "dream" lens, the Canon 50mm F1.2 which arrived early last Saturday. I have psoted some photos in the gallery already. I am very happy with the quality and balance of this lens. I have not had time to thoroughly test it yet ie: try it wide open at F1.2 but by early results, it looks very sharp. Perhaps I've been a bit lucky with this example.

If you search the gallery, you will find that fellow member Mackinaw has some shots made with his 50/1.2.

From what I've seen, the OOF look at wide open is quite unique (I like it). Another Canon lens to try, when you get around to it, is the Canon 50/1.5 (sonnar design) LTM.

Canon made some wonderful lenses in LTM.

Wow... sorry about the shamefully late reply, Huss! A lot of the photographs from 2016 were made with Kenmere ISO 100 (the inexpensive Ilford), or with APX ISO 400. When it comes to metering, I used a nice, reliable Sekonic L-86 that's been kicking about since the mid sixties, thanks to its nice selenium cell.

Just started reading through your blog and hopefully you're still active on RFF and will see this.
First off, I love your B&W photographs.
Second, I love Spain and spend a good deal of time there and recognise a few of your landmarks. I'm looking forward to returning in October for a couple of months.
And lastly, it seems the first few posts I've read have been shot on a M4-P.. how are you finding using it and do you still use your M4-2 as well?

Here I am! Still active and using film cameras! 🙂

I will be adding some new material to the blog. It's just that more recently I started using my M5 bodies and it's been some fun to do that. I also have stuff done with a nicely painted M2 with a Zeiss-Biogon 35mm f2 lens (also in Madrid).

heh! Good to see the M4-2 blog is still alive! 🙂

Perhaps you will inspire me to take mine out and use it ... It's been a long while since I did much more with it than exercise the shutter.

So many cameras, so little time... LOL!
