ISO: Black dot for an m6ttl

Take the red dot off, apply some black paint of your preferred finish; gloss, satin, matte, then gently rub off the raised portion with the Leica script. Voila.
OR: Find a broken Yashica Electro 35 and remove the rectangular logo then cut out the "atomic" part of the logo and use that. 😉

This is my back up option

I like the "gaffers tape" option. ...

This reminds me of something that happened to me recently. DAG upgraded the loading system in my M2 to that of an M4 recently during a CLA, but he didn't have any more M4 inner plates (the plate with the film loading diagram) - and Leica no longer produces them. So I ordered an inner plate for an M6 and covered the hole for the winder mechanism with black electrical tape.
