I am using leica cassettes for a few emulsions.
I was used to put a sticker on them indicating the film type, but this leaves a residue that is sometimes difficult to remove and damages the cassette.
I don't think marking the canisters alone is enough (I will probably mix them at some point)
Any idea here?
is there any type of color sticker/writable sticker that will not fall but can be removed easily?

thanks!

I primarily load Tri X, but if I load other films, I use narrow width blue 3m (?) painter like tape. Never an issue with residue, but I would use a solvent (like camp stove fuel) to clean it off if it was. It's brass so shld be fine.

Goo gone will take adhesive residue off of anything, cleanly, quickly, and easily without marking the brass.
Or just write on the ixmoo directly with a Sharpie and remove it with alcohol or acetone when needed. That’s even quicker than using labels and quicker to remove if using a different film the next roll.

I write the film type on the leader of the film, as well as no. frames I loaded in there.
When Loading the cassette (FILCA in my case) I take an iPhone picture of the camera with the film leader, as a reminder.

Once the film is exposed I rewind, leave the leader out but fold a few zigzags in it to distinguish from an unexposed film. Can still see the film type, ready for development.

Another solution is to neatly label the cassettes "1", "2" etc or else use "A", "B" etc. But you have to make a note of what's in each and can lose the note...

That way the label on the cassettes can be permanent and done with, perhaps, white paint or a white "Chinagraph" pencil*.

Regards, David

PS It would be fashionable to label them, I, II, III, IV etc ;-)

* That's a British make of china marker.
