Two days ago used istD I mentioned to shoot some pictures at a concert my kid participated. First went for ISO800 then switched to ISO400, both in RAW. On LCD pictures looked, well, not what you expect from current cameras. Later at home I converted couple of candidates and hey, I'll be able to send them to be printed. And there are some I'll give to teacher who documents collectives performances, too.
While it can't see in the dark, istD's high ISO capabilities are matched by Superia 800 and I'm comfortable switching between istD and film gear. I like way istD handles, dual wheel controls and top LCD (of course, access to resolution and ISO through left dial isn't too great, but also helps from changing them accidentally). AA NiMH's serve great despite widely discussed "half battery warning", just have to know this nuance.
In the swimming pool with high moisture and specific fumes in air I use film setup worth less than CF cards cost now.

I only bought my first digital camera 2 1/2 years ago, too early for me to say it is an old camera! Im planning to buy a interchangeable lens one but I'll keep the small Leica x1 for daily use due to its small size.

I have a D1h. I bought it used in 2007 but it the D1h was introduced in 2001 if I remember. Great camera and I still prefer the body to my much newer D80.
