Leica Day at Central Camera Chicago

Saturday, June 28th, 2008. Central Camera will have a "Leica Day" in which they'll pay the tax on a Leica gear/accesory purchase.

Nice chance to get together and play with some dream toys. 🙂

I'll try to be there, so hopefully I'll see some of the Chicago RFF contingent! 🙂 Liam, Matt, Ken and AJ, are you listening?

I won't be there, but I did get a chance to visit Central Camera last October, after seeing the place countless times and never stopping in.

It's good to see an independent camera shop thrive!

Once, in one of these events, the Leica representative taught me how to load the camera... and it's ridiculously easy. He also had an old version of the Tri-Elmar (these were the pre-M8 times) and an Elmarit 24 with him. Apparently, he had a Nocti with, and had gone to Millenium Park to photograph skaters in the ice rink.

In sum, there may be one. If not, we can ask Erwin or someone if they have one. 🙂

I was actually thinking about heading downtown on Saturday anyway. Taste of Chicago will be going on, which is a "target rich environment" for street shooters.
