Leica M3 818677 on Ebay Anyone feel lucky?

He is not describing the lens.

Agreed and is the lens included? We are not told one way or the other.

Only 35 and 50 with goggles and front element is just too big as I can see the start of "Sum... " on the lens. So my guess is a 50mm in which case I wish I could remember if they were available without the goggles by in your part of the world it's probably different anyway...

Yes it is a Dual-Range Summicron. The fitting at the top for mounting the goggles is the clue. The goggles may not be included, though. Apparently, the lens may not be, either.

The lens is included. The seller would have told me about it not being included when I asked him about the lens.

4 stands for death. No Asian buyer would buy a camera with 4 in its number, I have been told.
...

Interesting. What about the Leica M4 or Nikon F4, though? I have a 1971 Pentax and Super Takumar lens with a 4 in their serial numbers - would these have been weeded out from manufacturing and sent off to western markets?

EDIT - I see the link is for China; I thought the feelings about numbers pertained to Japan.

The RFF thread on the replica Summicron 35/2 gets into this issue. Almost all lenses for RFF have a 4 in them.
