Hi Friends,

I have this lovely Leica M4 :

The self-timer and the field-of-view selector have the piece in white.
I want to find and replace those pieces with black color.

Does anyone know where I can find those ones?
Thanks

Ha, ha, my experience with the M5/M4 is that they fall off pretty readily with even just moderate use. So ... get spares or don't worry about it. DAG or Sherry probably has spare parts.

That thing looks like it’s in great condition... it would be sad to permanently alter it. It’s yours and you can do what you want, but it’s pretty damn cool as is.

If you're really keen, i'd try automobile touch-up or model paint

I wouldn't paint those white lever inserts. Your M4 looks all-original and there probably aren't that many white inserts left, as I believe they were only used on the black chrome M5 and black chrome M4. If you want to swap in black inserts, store the white ones away so you have the option of restoring the camera to its original state if you ever want to sell it.

The black lever inserts were used on the silver chrome and black paint M4s, and are probably much more plentiful. The black lever inserts from the M4-2, M4-P, M6 and M7 may even fit, I'm not sure. Reach out to repairpeople like DAG and Youxin to ask if they have a couple they would sell you, or check out the online auction sites. You could even reach out to Leica and ask; if the ones from the M6 and M7 fit, they might have them on hand.
