Leice M2 Photo

A friend loaned me his M2 to see how I might like it. I took a photograph of it that I'm sure many of you folks will thoroughly enjoy.

However, I have no idea how to upload it into my RF gallery. Don't see any button that says "upload photos." Nada.

I bit of advice here would be appreciated. Warning: I am in the third grade when it comes to computers. (One of those arenas in life where a master's degree in English won't even get you a cup of coffee).

Hi Ted,

Even though you are logged in to RFF site, you have to log on to the gallery page. Look for the logon button on the top right-hand corner of the gallery page. Hope this helps.

Thanks - I'll see what I can do. Frank: What lens is on your R2 which, by the way, appears in excellent condition.

Well, I tried. They won't let me in. Want me to register as a newbie. "Are you under or over 13 years of age?" I'm afraid if I do that I'll get a new name "teddybear?" and lose my RFF identity. Maybe I need to talk to Jorge.

Oh, if you log onto Yahoo Groups M42 or Spotmatic you can see thephoto in either of my albums...

Wait! I think I just found my user/pass in a forgotten desk drawer (well, not forgotten, but seldom looked into). I'll try again.

Yes, I did it. My gallery is under tedwhite (in the 't's - duh)

Ted, that one's in, uh, pretty good shape too.

Someone's painted a chrome body black, otherwise you'd see brass under the black paint. New fancy body leather would spruce up that camera nicely.

I like that one. I'd think I'd actually own a Lieca if it were one like that. No worries about scratches costing a $1000 off resale value there.

Be a perfect candidate for one of the, uhm, unusual leather jobs out there, too.

Frank: That's exactly what I suspected. Somethig just didn't look kosher.

My black Pentax Spotmatics are very brassy from use. Sorry to mention them on this forum, but I've suspected that, due to their build quality, they were sort of the SLR equivalent to the Leica M series.

Also, the 21/4 Super Angulon lens left much to be desired. darkness in the corners, the outdoor photos had that, and some of them had a sort of haze (very faint) and it wasn't a hazy day, plus colors weren't snappy and the entire image lacked a bit of contrast. Perhaps the lens has had its day? ONly two images were good. Indoors in the coffee shop in Old Bisbee, hand held at a half-second. Colors looked good also. I'll scan them sometime this week ( must work tomorrow) and you can see for yourself.

Cheers,

TEd

I took my Yashica Electro 35 GSN out the next day. It felt like a new camera in comparison.
