Hi long time reader, first time contributor. Anyways i just got a 35 summicron asph for $2100 and i noticed the hood(12524) has a bit of a wobble. should i be concerned?

Hmmm I don't remember mine having any wobble. It locks on quite tightly. How much is a bit? A few mm or just a slight amount of play?

35/2.0 ASPH has the 12526 hood, the 12524 is for the 35/2.0 pre-ASPH. Maybe that makes a difference ?

There's only a little play but i guess that's due to the fact that its not made for it.

If you don't mind "Made in China", there are some good/ cheap vented ones on eBay. Heavysix is a fine seller.
