I am an unabashedly Leica fanboy. If you have an ala carte M7 or MP, please show it to the world. Love to see the way folks customize with Leica's help.😉

kingqueenknave, is that a black hot shoe on your MP? I emailed Leica USA and was told they couldn't do that.

I am loving this camera, it's my dream Leica, Chrome, leather and .85 framelines M3 style lever
Nik
What is that little lever on the front of the shutter button?
my guess is an M7 à la carte (on/off lever), beautiful camera
Go for it! You will love it, nothing like your own unique cameraI've been considering an a la carte - only because I feel the M(240) isn't going to happen - and a new a la carte (with all the bells and whistles) will still be reasonably cheaper than a new M(240).
I wonder - having never owned an MP I don't know how easy it would be to switch back to a non-auto exposure camera; I've become so accustomed to the auto exposure on the M7.
Hmmm... decisions... decisions... 😀
Cheers,
Dave
Not my picture (or lens), but it is my camera now. Got it used. M7, black chrome, no markings anywhere, MP , 0.58x finder with out the 75 mm frame lines.
Had I bought it new, I would have tried for the black hot shoe, but it doesn't really seem to be worth my time or money to try to get it changed now.
While I still like my bog standard M7, I must admit I like the lack of markings and the 0.58x finder. I don't really care about the wind lever one way or the other.
These beauties make it so tempting. I could probably swing my dream Leica by selling my M7 and MP, but is it worth it?
Out of curiosity, how long between ordering and actually receiving the camera (regardless of which you order MP or M7)?
Cheers,
Dave
Six to eight weeks based on the two experiences I've had. I recommend ordering through Tony Rose at PopFlash.
