Happy Snapper
Hallo,
About to stock up on this here in Beijing (54p/roll 135 or 120). Before I buy thirty rolls, I thought I'd ask if anyone had any experiences with this and TMAX, DDX or Diafine developers?
I've had a few rolls processed in HC110 here and I like the particular results (it's like being back in the 1930s!) it gives.
I only have the above developers, I could go and buy some Ilfosol if that is better.
Cheers,
kully

Ilford with Lucky will be fine, just add some time to the default setting will give you good pictures

Not sure about developers, but the one roll of Lucky 120 I've processed is a really stiff film - just about impossible to get it to sit flat for scanning!

I'd recommend you get Shantou ERA instead, way better than Lucky. Only comes in the 35mm though.

Quite a number of people in China claim Era is better than Lucky. But the Era film has only ISO100 in 135 format and Lucky has ISO100 and 400 in both 120 and 135 format. Lucky also produces an ISO100 B&W film specially for professional 120 users, which is said to be quite good but difficult to find. It's called Lucky 120 professional. Two years ago, Lucky and Kodak teamed up in their film business in China. I don't know whether Kodak has transfered some of its technologies to Lucky but the relationship seems quite bumpy these days.
And there is a photo store near the Xi Dan tube station, which is called Green View Club or Lu Ying Shi in Chinese. They have some Forte 100 film dated 06/06for sale at the price of £0.65 per roll. New stock dated 02/08 seems to be priced at £1 per roll.
Following is their direction.
