IMO the black paint button rewind M2 without self-timer is the best looking M ever. Simply beautiful.

Until the black chrome M-A showed up. That thing makes my teeth sweat.

This is very well possible.

The collapsible lens derived from the idea that it should be possible to put a camera in a pocket. Actually I have never seen a person doing this.

I have never put a Leica M in my jacket pocket - they are just too pretty to hide - but I have with my R7, Nikon S2, Nikon ActionTouch etc etc.

Of note today I came across a button rewind ST-less M2 at a pawn shop. The shutter timing would hang at below 1/15 sec, and the rf needed calibrating. But the body, vf and rf patch were perfect. Notably the film advance lever was the smoothest I’ve felt out of any M Kamera. And I have a bunch.

What would a great condition M2 like this that needed a CLA be worth?

My guess on the M2 (and it is just a guess) is $500 with a $250 CLA perhaps. If anything I am probably on the low end.
