I got myself a 50mm f3.5 collapsible Elmar and found it to be fiddly to use o the Leica IIIc what with having to adjust the aperture and shutter and then focusing. The other day I put it on the M7 with an adapter and set it at f5.6 and just fired away without having to worry about shutter speed. It may be the easiest way to use this lens, whether shooting black and white or color. I have not finished the roll yet, but would be surprised if the results were not spot on, knowing how accurate the electronic shutter is on the M7. Anyone with a similar experience?

You are describing the difference of using a camera with AE vs manual exposure.
Same thing using a Nikon F3 vs F2 etc etc

The M7 has a fairly tight center weighted meter. So if the meter is centered on a subject that is not 18% grey, the exposure could be wrong. It is not a question of shutter accuracy. You should meter on a spot in the image that is near 18% grey, press the shutter release half way to lock the shutter speed, reframe and then completely press the shutter release.
For reference the Nikon F2 Photomic is 60% center weighted and the F3 is 80% center weighted.
