Pictures of Canada taken by Canadian Leica.

Opened AGFA Brovira #5 paper from rfaspen yesterday. High contrast! 🙂

We had some awesome provincial election on previous week.
I went to see local candidates. They were nice.

And our family went and casted our ballots. We have high turn out - four of five from eligible went to vote and for different candidates.

Now it is first another government in Ontario since we came to Canada.

Taken as usual with M4-2 and Summarit-M 35 2.5.

Canada Day as of yesterday. +34C Day. I took off on bicycle and it was less people than usual on event. Due to specific of the day, I used M4-2 with 50 Cron ELC.
Loaded with Kodak E100G from Burlington Camera store and developed it in E-6 kit from Argentix.ca.

I used white masking tape on top plate to prevent overheat.

I completely forgot about the phenomenon of the "Tractor Pull". I've been to one or two of those...

Kind of fun. eh? Nice color image of the "tricked out" mini tractor! I guess a person has to have a hobby...for some its photography, for others....tractors! 😎

Poor black cameras can really suffer under the hot, intense, summer sun. Not to mention the film inside! 😱

We're having lucky cool weather here in OR so far, but I expect it to change soon. Where I live, we never needed air conditioning until about 4-5 years ago. Today, it is a necessity. I don't think we would much survive a summer without it.

Slightly off topic, but are there any film photography clubs/gatherings in the GTA/Hamilton area? I'm just getting back into film photography and would love the opportunity to get a bit of hands on insight from experienced folks. There's a club were I live in Guelph, but they're all digital shooters.

Burlington supposed to still have public darkroom. I meet Mansur from Ryerson University at Go train once, he told me about it.
Burlington Camera is last store in GTA with focus on film and darkroom. Their sales people were at this store then it was nothing but film.
Downstairs they have biggest selection of enlargers and else. Customers getting advice for free.

Toronto should have more social activity. Bob Carnie is where http://www.alternativephotoservices.com/bob-carnie.html

And ex-Apug just had symposium with seminars, talks and analog prints massive collective exhibition in May.

Thanks for replying Ko.Fe.

I've been to Burlington Camera, they have a great selection of used gear. Recently Picked up a used Voitlander 28mm f/2 from them for my (new to me) M6.

I just developed my first roll of film and am currently setting up my Epsom v600 scanner. I might try to print film in the future, but for now, digital scans will do.

With all the film shooters in this forum from southern Ontario, I'm kind of surprised there aren't any film clubs/gatherings, oh well, such is life. If you ever see a tall, slim, shaved headed 50+ guy shooting a Leica around, don't hesitate to say hi.

Cheers

At your service!
Halton Camera Exchange (all of the way from Guelph to Georgetown by hwy 7) is little camera store with interesting Leica goodies. I recommend to bring some of your bw scans and ask them to print. They do some magic.

Socially it is not about clubs anymore, but online. We have this famous film american podcast ambassador in Milton. I never seen him. And here is FB group creator for Ontario film shooters somewhere in Oakville. Never seen him either.

But I'm very social animal rooming on local streets and events. 🙂

Taken with M4-2 and Cron 50 ELC.

Clanky44 -- congrats on your developing! Cool shots, and I'd say you did a good job with the darkroom stuff. It gets addictive after a while, so watch out! 🙂

Thanks Bobby,

So much of this is still a guessing game, both in developing and scanning. I'll keep using my current stash of chemicals and take note of how it behaves with different film stock. Might eventually pick up different developers, but there's no sense in changing developers without having a baseline to compare.

Scanning parameters is another foggy area. Not sure if I should be using 16-bit greyscale or 48-bit color scale on my Epsom 600. Kept my resolution at 2400dpi which equated to 45-60mb tiff files in LR6.

Thought I'd add this one, to help us remember to enjoy summer while it lasts! 🙂

Camera: Leica M7
Film: Ilford HP5+ @ EI800
Developed in Ilford DD-X. Epson v700 scan.

Nice capture!

I'll take the heat over the cold... 15 years of working in northern Ontario winters makes one appreciate summers!

I do as well...

But, sorry, I have to make it clear.

This is the thread called - pictures of CANADA taken with CANADIAN Leica. In Film Leica Forum.
It means, would it be film ELC M camera and ELC lens, or just ELC lens on film M or only FILM ELC Leica - post some pictures.

You are welcome.

My M4-2 now have some visible spots in RF patch...

This week it was hot about diversity. These days in official Ottawa if you not screaming - I embrace it - you are in trouble.

Old Soviet anecdote - what it multi nations friendship (diversity in Canada)? It is then Russian, Armenian, Uzbek, Moldovan and so on get together and suppress Jewish.
In Canada (according to official statistics) most of the hate crime is committed against Jewish.

Here is four frames from single roll taken by M4-2. Kodak 400 Ultramax color film, roll #30 developed in one year old C-41 kit, developed two days ago.

This Friday annual plowing match in rural Milton.

Most of these pictures were taken with Summicron 50 IV ELC. I'm not impressed with this lens on BW film at all, but on color it is pleasing my eyes.

It was taken on local reservoar. Years ago they drain water from it to build walking path in the water. After they build it water never came to original levels, but this year we have plenty of rain, so beach area is swimmable, yet they removed barrier from flying birds and beach is taken other by Canadian Geese a.k.a. flying cow.

M4-2 with Summarit 35 and some Ilford 125 ISO film.

On previous CNE they had one guy who was hiding camera in teddy bear and taking some butts pictures.
This year they have pissed off union workers protesting.
