Dear all,
How do you compared the bokeh of Canon 35mm f2 & summicron 40mm, or even the 35mm Summicron. Photos are welcomed. Many thanks.

I never found this to be a strong point for the Canon 35/2. I had a 40 Rokker and a Canon 35/2 at one point, there was no comparison in my eyes, I really liked the Rokker.

I had the 40mm rokkor for a while and to be honest I find the bokeh not the strongest part of that lens (oof highlights have bright/strong borders, making it harder to get smooth blurry backgrounds).

This image illustrates this quite nicely (although ridiculously 😉 )

The Canon 35/2 has a swirly Bokeh to it, the Summicron 40/2 has it beat.

I need to upload some. I have some dogital images with the EP2, and it was noticeable. On the M8 and film, even more so.

+1

I had the summicron C with my CL and sold them for this reason. The backgrounds were too distracting
