The responses were basically:
1. If you don't like the default colours, you can change at the bottom.
2. Don't whine because is free.
1 misses the point. The point is not you can switch, the point is that the std templates should work for 90% of visitors. That is why companies employ website designers and user interface experts. But anyone can read a book or even Google to find out key pointers to web page design if they want.
Of course, I know RFF isn't a company. But the 90% point above is still valid-- go to any non-commercial website and see for yourself.
2 is a question of whether the site owners care about feedback, and whether they can separate the content from the language. Saying someone is short or "vertically-challenged" amounts to the same thing. Just because one way sounds better than another doesn't change the underlying issue.
