I have called a couple shops and there seems to be quite a shortage of Voigtlander lenses in the market right now. Apparently, without a distributor in the US, and issues with their Canadian distributor new lenses are not making it to the stores. I am sure Cameraquest has them, but their prices have gone up quite a bit, for example on the 50/1.5. In addition to some of the shops I wouldn't do business with, I have called B&H, Adorama and Central Camera in Chicago and all are saying the same thing.

Hmmm... I noticed that B&H used to have the Voigtlander SL lenses listed on their website, but by the end of July last year these items had been removed. In any case, there had been no way to specify the desired camera mount when ordering online.

I ordered by phone, and it took them two months to deliver one in Pentax K mount. This may not be relevant to your comment, as this was a very limited-production item.

I was at Central Camera in Chicago the day after Christmas - they had a 75mm Scopar 3.5 and a 35mm as well. I was tempted by the 75mm, but I went for a used A. Schacht Travenar 90mm f2.8 instead for my Voigtlander Bessa R. They *thought* they were out of the Voigtlander SM lenses, but when the guy looked in the back, he said he had some after all.

Also, I got a nice thank-you letter in the mail from Central Camera the other day. Who does that in this day and age? Nice touch!

Best Regards,
