I have a Summicron 2/50 (with the built-in hood). Does anyone know if those magnetic filter adapters from XUME work without interfering with the hood? I want to be able to easily pop filters on/off.

I don't think they make a 39mm lens ring?

The smallest adapter is 49mm.
With another adapter E49 to E39 to add to your Summicron, you may be use Xume system.
Or adapter E52 (... another diameter) to E39 and use your currently available E52 (or what you have most).

First time I hear of such a thing. Great idea, hope they start making them in RF sizes (and cheap 😱 ). I'd usually rather use a rangefinder when I need a filter, as I don't have to look through it...

You're right - 49mm is the smallest size. So I could use a step-up ring, but then my built-in hood is out of commission. I used these on my DSLR. They are very handy, but you just have to make sure it doesn't cause vignetting.
