Speaking of airport security, I left my Contax II in my bag at security, and the bag was flagged. The conversation went something like this:
SO - You have to remove all electronic devices.
Me - It’s not an electronic device.
SO - If it runs on batteries, you have to remove it from
your bag.
Me - It doesn’t run on batteries.
SO - (skeptically) So how does it take a picture?
Me - Springs.
SO - (Annoyed) Just remove it from your bag in the future.

Springs... Beautiful. Good thing you did not say "chemicals".
I think one time I did send my Contax iia through x-ray with no film in it, and just had the film hand checked. They said nothing that time.

For all purposes other than actual brand name it is a Contax. I have a 4a (1978).

Well Zeiss Contax Month has ended! I ended up travelling a lot this month and took my Contax with me. It is a great camera to travel with. I can fit it in my (large) computer bag along with my 50mm f2 Sonnar and the Voigtlander 21mm f4 SC Skopar, a few filters, viewfinders, etc. I found my self using the 21mm lens a lot. I flew to Detroit three times, then traveled to Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Oklahoma. Along the way I passed through other states (Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas) The third trip I did not bring my Contax as it was a quick trip. I also took a trip to Joshua Tree with my family that ended in the beginning of April. You can see all the Contax shots here and here if interested. The Joshua Tree ones are mixed some images from my Fuji XT-2.
Thanks for sharing your Contax shots! I hope we can do this again next year.

Thanks for the reminder, Mark! Although I don't need a lot of encouragement to break out my Contax cameras... I love those Zeiss optics, and the S mount CV Skopar ain't too shabby either...

Might be better to start a new thread labeled "April is Zeiss Contax Month 2020" so one doesn't have to scroll through all the older posts to get to the current ones.
Just a thought.

I'm happy I can join in this year, with my '52 Kiev, freshly CLA'd works better than many Contax cameras I had before.
