I don't have GAS anymore...

Ok honestly maybe after I buy the "portrait" lens this week I won`t have GAS anymore, until I think about that Leica IIIF ST in the 823000 to 825000 serial number range :p ok....I really DON`T need that camera to work with do I?

....... maybe I should have an odd "beater" M3 SS with a Nikkor f1.4 50mm on it? :p

Tom, see, that's what I experience also, albeit not in the same detail as your case is. But the more I entertain the Leica GAS, the more absorbed I am into the details that won't affect my photography at all.

If you don't mind me saying, if I were you, I'd keep my favorite Leica body and maybe 2 lenses, let go of the others, not think about Leicas GAS anymore, there are so many more worthy photography pursuits outside of Leica, IMHO :)

Someone DID have GAS for a clean 1946 Leica IIIC body?

I just SOLD it to San Francisco less than an hour ago!

Thanks Rudi!!!!!!

Yes, I`m really thinking MORE in that direction....I`ve used Vietnam era Canon F-1 Mech for years and years now, I was a BIG Leica M6 fan, till I traded it for the "Grey" IIIC K and now I have another 1945 IIIC *my avatar camera* that`s got the original matching standard F3.5 50mm Elmar with it (which I have used only once, but it`s a great little lens)

I`m like really totally into my Canon f1.5 50mm now, I know people will get tired of me ranting about it, but I`m so much in love with the look this lens gives and in my style of Photography it`s very flattering for the ladies, when they are happy with their PinUp pix then I`m happy too :)

I think that I can survive with the Canon lens on the IIIC (I need to get it CLA`d) badly so it`s all UP TO SNUFF and also figure out which portrait lens I really want for it and that`s IT with the old Leica`s, for a while at least about buying more stuff

I mean for me that`s really HARD to say, because I love old Leica`s but I`m really NOT a collector, even though I`m really INTO the history of Leica`s and like the whole matching era lenses etc.

I`m thinking maybe about ONE more kool vintage camera and that`s maybe going to be a Canon Rangefinder (era 1955/56) just to see what they are all about....I need to see who`s the CANON RANGEFINDER guru here at RFF and ask for some suggestions on what would match up well with my f1.5 50mm?

Cheers

Tom
