Without my bible to hand I cannot check whether the one with slow speeds is the very rare one or the one without...or something.

Probably another piece of scientific or medical kit finding it's way onto the market after a hard life.

Looks ripe for gold plating and lizard skin covering!

It's a Ig - check the flash symbols on the top shutter speed dial and raised top deck. - Will someone explain whether the slow shutter speed dial was a standard feature on the Ig???

Why Leitz raised the top deck on this model is beyond me. Unless there are some mechanicals to synch a flash underneath, I'd prefer the top deck of the Ic and If.

Back in the day, this puppy may have seen some use mounted to a microscope with a Visoflex.
 
Apart from a second life as a Viso SLR or with an ultra wide there's not much use for this one anymore. But still, despite the missing vulcanite, I wouldn't be surprised if the winning bid is going over 500 USD.

These were only produced in small numbers. Both with and without slow speeds are rare. One is rarer than the other but not sure which! Both are collectable.

If you wanted you could mount both V/F and R/F on at the same time. Scary!

Yes, I think the later shutter 'kit' is higher. This is most noticeable on very late factory conversions of original IIIs. The top housing can be quite different.

Ig, MDA, Post Leica, there seem to be some around Ebay at present...

You should be able to mount it on a microscope without a Visoflex as, with a compound microscope, the eyepiece tube and film plane should correspond.
