Definitively it is not a M8, the camera has a rewind crank. In the movie, she was operating the film advance lever and the rewind crank turns. It may be a M6 TTL or a M7.

In the movie, it also made an SLR-esque CLACK!

Given that the logos are blacked out, it also counts as the worst bit of movie product placement ever. Nice one, Leica!

Seems like I also remember her "taking" a shot of somebody way too close. Am I right or wrong?

My guess is an M6, I've got the movie on DVD and freeze framed it, but still it's only a guess.

ErikFive said:Looks like an M7. The M6 hasnt the thin strip under the viewfinder that tells you if its a .58, .72 or .85 Am I right? I have only owned the M6 Classic and not the ttl so im not sure. And it has the M4, M6, M7 style rewind crank.
Late M6 classics and M6TTLs have the vf magnification under the window. Earlier M6s only came in one flavour.

It's clearly a M6 classic, with a piece of tap covering the Leica red in the middle. The silver bar at the bottom of the viewfinder tells us it's one of the Leica with built-in metering.

I think it is a FED.

ywenz, you are right! It is a leica M6 clasic. Look at the lens release button and the thinner space between the rangefinder window and the top of the camera. The M6 TTL and M7 has more space. These cameras are taller.

I thought the shutter speed dials were smaller on the classic. I looks like it has a larger shutter speed dial.

There was a bit on NPR about the guys who do the sound effects for movies. The directors probably thought she looked like she was pretending to take pictures.
