In the News: 40,000 Lobsters dead

I used to be a criminal investigator and often attended autopsies as part of my investigations of homicides. But I never would have expected to attend the autopsy of a lobster. Wow.

Whatever was the cause I hope they find out soon, and if a criminal act, I hope they catch the perp(s). And I hope there was no organized crime involved. Hope the victim had sufficient insurance too.

What next in the world?

A super-size Thermador?
:D

I predict that these lobsters were abducted by aliens in USO's, subjected to various alien recipies and ultimatley dumped back into the ocean. This is just like the cattle mutilations only wet.

Oh, yes, and they kept some of them, making a new intelligent (sort of) lobster which will return to the Earth, as we can see in Futurama.

I work in aquatic animal health - I deal with fish and shellfish kills all the time. Safely disposing of that much biomass is a real headache, not to mention the smell.

The thing that frustrates the pedant in me is that it is an autopsy if performed on a human, but one performs a necropsy on animals.

I think to expect the guy to dispose of the tainted water himself (potentially costing $1000's) is just adding insult to injury.

Hope they catch whoever did it.

Not that I agree with large scale fishing in that fashion. In fact I disagree with any large scale animal farming/fishing.
