Hope I'm posting this in an appropriate place but,,,,,,
Almost always, when I open a thread to view I am taken to the end of the thread on the last page. Then I have to go to the first page and then to the top of the page. Is there a way that I can simply go to the top of the first page of a thread when I click on it? Sometimes I am but almost always, even on a thread that I haven't viewed before, when I click on it I am taken to the bottom of the last page. I have cruised through the FAQs and the options in the User CP but haven't found the answer yet. Thanks in advance..........

You're not alone in this, Steve.
As for me... I just click the link on the first page. I'm used to technology being a bit of a pain.
Now, my personal pet-peeve: when I click on a thread, I usually see the text all the way to the right, compressed and squashed in something like a one-inch column, with a vast empty and black space on the eft. Oh, well...

if you hit 'new posts' from the top of the page you will be taken to a page of new posts. the titles should have a very small box just ahead of the first word of the title. if you click on that you will be taken to the first unread post in the thread.

I often see links in threads that are no more then blue question marks. I always wonder if it's a Safari browser glitch or an error by the poster?
In your User CP, on the left click Edit Options, and half way down the page you will see display page options with a pull down menu. You should be able to choose how you view threads.

So while I can change the order and appearance of the posts I can't seem to change the fact that I can't seem to just start at the top.
Joe's suggestion works but the box he referred to that takes one to the first unread post is only present in the new posts section. Maybe I'll just start using that as it seems to be easier than always going to the back of the bus. Cheers,,,,,,,,,,,

I always view this site in Threaded mode. I find it saves a lot of time because I can read the first few words of all the replies and just click on the ones I want to read and easily navigate back and forth to re-read certain replies etc.
