Hi all,
I've recently lost my Leica IIIf eye piece and the glass on the framing screen fell out as well. My problem now is that I can't find a replacement of the glass element on the framing screen but it's a very scarce element.
Though I've tried to ebay plus several online stores but the glass but it's not available.
I would appreciate anyone that could help me out by pointing me to the right direction to look for expired leica's accesories. Or perhaps anyone here has one for sale?

I would suggest DAG camera - Don had all the parts you need last time I looked. Check with him here:
http://www.dagcamera.com
It is always worth an email if you don't see exactly the part you want - Don is able to source the most obsure parts.

Hmm, bummer - have you tried putting a wanted ad in the classic camera repair forum over at CameraQuest?

I made a VF eyepiece lens from the plastic lens of a disposable camera. Luck was with me at that time.
Get a disposable Kodak camera with an optical VF. Take out the VF optics and use the eyepiece part. Using a bus-conductor's puncher, punch out a piece from the central part of the lens. The lens is plastic and quite thin at the centre. The puncher will be able to cut out a circular piece out of it, with some effort. The puncher will likely be rendered useless after the effort as well. Punch with one, sure stroke- hesitation will make the cut uneven.
The punched lens is exactly the size of the Leica's VF eyepiece lens. It will fit snugly into the mount.
The only disadvantage is, being made of plastic, the lens can scratch rather easily.
