Naneu Pro "Military Ops" Lima

It's black. The olive one is sort of a silvery green from the photos I've seen. It's a cool color but it just isn't me; probably 75%+ of my clothes are black, so...

The strap clips on and off so it was easy to swap out for another, thankfully. If it were sewn on, well, I hate the strap so much I probably would have either returned the bag, or just used the inserts in another bag and not used the bag at all.

This bag looks great and perfect for my need. It should be able to hold my laptop for school work as well. The only caveat is that there isn't a dealer in my country and the shipping cost is almost 90% of the cost price! Back to searching I guess...

Hi Samuel, it's not big enough to hold a laptop, unless you have one of those ultra-tiny laptops, and there is no space to put a laptop sleeve in it either so you'd have to stuff it into a pocket. If I were you I'd go for the next size up, which includes a laptop compartment.

As a matter of fact it is. I can even stuff it into my western lawn, the smallest messenger bag. The step up looks rather large and bulky, which I want to avoid. I already have large and bulky bags that I leave at home to grow mold on.

But anyway, I can't get one here. Probably get something from Lowepro or crumpler. Thanks for the advise anyway.

Thanks for the review.

May I know if the inserts can be used in the bag independently of each other? Like if one only uses one insert and then removes the other insert to put in something like a water bottle? Does the insert in the bag stay in position?

Thanks

MC,

Thanks for the info on the strap. I prefer to have a strap go all the way around the bottom, but it sounds like a fine case.

BTW, the compass comes in real handy when you are in a new city on a overcast day walking without a map. On a sunny day I can navigate just about any where. I've had two occasions (separated by about 25 years) where I ended up going the wrong way as there was no sun to navigate by. I have one in my SHTF ($hit Hitting The Fan) bag I am putting together for work.

Great review and info. When I can find a few extra Jacksons I might get one.

Glad to hear, Patrick!

I really like the size of this bag. I can get what I need into it and it's not so big that it makes me look ridiculous. Also, it matches my outfits.

Why do you need two?

I am looking to buy this bag. But I am not sure if the demension fit what I want to put in because of the different spec I saw on Naueu website. In the "Over view" section, it says it will fit a large DSLR such as Canon 5D with lens up to 5". I know for fact that a Canon 5D is at least 3" thick, so 5D with a 5" lench attache is like 8" tall.

However, in the Spec section, it says the insert is 6.75". I wonder which one is accurate. Would you be able to take a quick measure and let me know how tall the insert is?

Thanks lot!

Well three years later, how do people like this bag? price has gone up big time.

I love my Lima bag! Best camera bag that I ever bought, a perfect size and great features, and very well made. While I am surprised how much that they have gone up in price, I would still buy the bag at the new price. I bought one last year as a gift to a friend, and she thinks that it's a great bag, too.

I've been using a Lima almost daily since February of 09, I love it to death. It get thrown around all the time. I love how close it hugs my body unlike just about every other bag I've tried. In a pinch, it holds my rb67 with the orange liners removed. Perfect size for a yashica A and a yashica electro plus all the goodies that go along with. The only problem is the stitching on the strap pad has come out some exposing the foam inside. Still completely functional.

One semester I had 3 classes without books, I just stuck a few moleskin journals in there and went to class with it. More than one teacher stopped class to ask why I was taking pics of them lecturing. I recently found a much better bag for my RB tho, a softsided fishing tackle bag from Wally world for 3$ that beats the pants off any lowepro or tamrac I've tried.
