ZenShooter: May be this could be your next project? the cla this thing would need, the parts, etc, would make this into a serious project.....but you'd have a gunmetal M2...a beautiful piece of equipment!

I think eekBay is common too.

As for the other, I never understood it either. Always seemed borderline infantile and pretentious to me. Just say "eBay." No one has a problem saying Craiglist or flea market or boot sale.
I think the mention of eBay on photo.net was frowned upon. I could never get a clear answer.
Posting the actual URL is easier for the potential readers.. as a result I hardly ever go to ebay and search for the provided auction number... Let's face it, these threads are hardly ever worth following up with that much work to say "Aha! this here is the auction that guy from rff was talking about. Ah yes, I see what he meant!". They are usually worth a click or two though if the link was provided.

I concur. I dont even know how to search for item numbers.

killer of threads
You just put the number in the search box, the same place that you would type an item description. eBay figures it out from there.fdigital said:I concur. I dont even know how to search for item numbers.

I took the liberty to replace "the bay" with "eBay" and providing a direct link to the auction for everybodies convenience. Now lets hear the other side which does not like the word "eBay" and which has a strong dislike for direct links to auctions on - what they call - "the bay".

I was wondering about that too. Let's just say, for argument's sake, that this was originally a true black paint M2. By overpainting it (very poorly, judging from even poorer pics) he compeltely destroyed a unique camera and reduced it's value to very little (less than an ordinary M2, IMO, as this thing looks crap, has defects, and may not be very good inside). BTW, if it would stay at the $70 or so it's now, someone will get a deal, a steal, the sale of the f*cking century.

Such crappy photos, it's hard to tell, but the back door looks nicked and scratched like maybe it hasn't been painted. What think ye?

Orrr... here's an idea that some forums have tried. Just call it whatever the heck you want, let others call it what they want and post the link or item number, whichever you choose. I like to use "in the Bay, out of the Bay, from the Bay" etc. It's just my poor attempt at [pretentious.infantile] humor... and I'll no doubt continue.Always seemed borderline infantile and pretentious to me. Just say "eBay."

My own black M2 is painted very poorly, by myself. It hides some of the dents. This one doesn't look that bad to me. The pics are poor, indeed. If it isn't the pic but the paint, the work has been done very poorly.
Being repainted, it will not be a collectors camera. Who cares?

I assumed he was talking about the cover, but who knows?"and the back is partly glued".

Maybe he glued the old paint back on the door.

the M2 sold for 1000 euros... Somebody must have liked it!

Well, if it was really black originally and painted over, the only sensible idea with buying this camera would be to remove the fresh paint with a solvent.

This is what a black M2 should look like (click). This one is beautiful. The previous (painted) was really uglified...
