I love my new Yashica GSN. This camera rocks! And I have got to say the Lord played a big part in me getting this camera. Sunday evening 3 GSNs were going off ebay within a couple of hours of each other. I put in bids for the first two and got sniped both times. I saw another GSN going off with no bids. I noticed the camera was here in North Carolina so that meant I would have to pay 6.5% sales tax if I won. Well I won! No one else bidded so I got the camera for $9.99+tax+$10.00 S&H. Next day the seller sent an email saying he lived in a nearby town & was comming to Lexington and could meet us to save on shipping. My wife met him the next day(I had to work) and I got the camera for $10.64. No shipping!
Plus I didn't just get an immaculate camera he gave me another GSN parts camera, and it works, but looks abit rough. So i'm a happy camper. The camera looks like it just came out of the box. The half case hasn't a scratch on it either. The light seals were gummed up so I replaced them, and now i'm just waiting on an adapter I ordered on ebay. I think i'm going to like it better than my Canonet. The vf is almost as good as my Bessa R, and the build quality is quite good & has a good solid feel. Yes this baby is gonna see alot of use.
Thank You Jesus!

Sounds a bit like when I got my Minolta Hi-Matic E....for $2.00 CDN. I think the Minolta and the Yashica might have some common parts, or there was some sort of collaboration between the two companies.

I won't argue that. But I sure am happy how my Yashica worked out.

Yeah, I have two GSNs, both need work. So I guess I need to find a decent Yashica repair facility. These were acquired when I was buying stuff on ebay without paying the proper attention. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Something of the like happened with my first GSN purchased for $16 due to no other bidders around. The seller described it in great detail, showing he is knowledgeable of cameras and responsible for them.
So I felt some remorse and tryed to buy directly from him another camera, a Lynx 14, but after some doubts he decided to keep it for himself.
Since then, in selective cases in which the price of an item is ridculously low, either due to lack of other bidders, or other reasons, I use to pay a bit more than what I must, just not to abuse honest sellers due to circumstances.
Of course some times I have been flatly screwed, and in the Yashica eBay area by the famous crook signing as jbeckwith, already a celebrity within various RFF members. But at the same time I will never surrender to the laws of the jungle for my own behaviour. My late father did, and I didn't like it at all.
Cheers,
Ruben

Thank You Jesus!
I praise the Lord when I got introduced to photography to get rid of my old, completely selfish and useless addiction to Computer Games.
When you thank God for small things, you'll appreciate what He does for the bigger things.
Enjoy your Yashica

Now if the Lord really loved you, He'd have put a Lynx 5000 in there too.
