M8 + Voigtländer 15 mm 4,5 Asph.

I have just bought 2.hand a Voigtländer 15 mm 4,5 Aspherical to go with my M8 (and my MP and my Zeiss Ikon). It has L-mount and came with an M adaptor.

Mounting on my M8, or my ZI for that matter, camera focusing does not work. That is the fucusing 'reflex' double vision does not move when I turn the focusing ring. It is not much of a problem, though, since DOF reaches from infinity to - about - one meter at aparture 4,5.

But is this normal with this lense?

I still have problems with jpg file quality out of M8. I was about to put out more pictures with this 15 mm lense, but they are full of artifacts and jagged lines. I dug up my 1Ds II and took some paralell shots; the jpg out of this camera looks 'just perfect'.

Then I tried to go from RAW to TIFF in Phase One (awful program!), and then jpg in PS. The jagged lines are still there even after resizing the picture. What am I missing out here?

An incredibly sweet lens on the M8. One from my gallery from a couple of weeks ago:

Under Confederation Square in Ottawa. Fairly minimal photoshopping...
