I just know if I made photos in an airport I'd be visiting a jail in a new and different city pretty quickly. Isn't this a big no-no these days?

No, I shoot photos in airports every time I travel - no problems.sepiareverb said:I just know if I made photos in an airport I'd be visiting a jail in a new and different city pretty quickly. Isn't this a big no-no these days?

I think one just has to be discreet about it and careful what your point a camera at. I dont think they would be too keen on someone like Winogrand floating all around as he used to do.

That's where I'd get into trouble- because I'd be shooting stuff with no people in the shot- windows and stairways and the stuff easily seen as being 'of no above-board use'. Another reason I shoulda got that first Leica in 1966.

I wouldn't care to even take my camera out of the bag at Heathrow (London).
I picked up a friend at Terminal 4 a couple of weeks ago and spent about 2 hours hanging around waiting for her to come through customs/immigration. I saw lots of photo opportunities but had no camera with me - probably a good thing because the place was also crawling with police and CSOs (pseudo police who have a habit of being over zealous!) just looking for someone to hassle.

Beautiful hallway shot vrgard- that's up my alley. Perhaps it's my appearance that adds to the 'hassle factor' I expect when shooting stuff like that.

An old grass strip airport in Cherry Springs, PA (Potter County). They tore it down last year!

Film is the other way
Randy, nice shot of the new Terminal I
Brad, great to see some images of these overlooked local airstrips.
Here are 2 from Toronto's Terminal II the 3 hours prior to it's closure and demolition
