Sorry guys i can't agree with any of you..... the hottest looking chrome lens by far is stilll the 50mm type I rigid summicron ..... or the 50 year edition of the current 50 summicron with that same design. Dr summicron makes a good second....!

I get the "Wait, so that's digital? No way!" comment all the time when I have a older lens on my M8.
Actually I get it regardless of any Lens on my M8

Actually, the best reaction for a chrome lens was when I was in Aruba, behind the scenes, photographing during a SI swimsuit shoot. I had a Nikon D2x with a chrome 45P that raised many interesting facial expressions.
But none of the 'happy to see me jokes'(remember the lens is flatter than a pancake lens). But, if it had been a chrome 300mm, who knows?

Warning: this post is all about hot looks and not a bit about photography.

I already have pretty much all the M/LTM lenses that I need, now looking for a sexy “looker” lens to mount on a chrome M7, just for fun. The requirements are simple – it must be simply stunning when mounted on the M7 and must have pretty decent glass.

Just get an old Zeiss 80mm (or 150mm even) in Hassey mount, a Hassey-to-35mmSLR adapter plus a matching SLR-to-Leica-M adapter.

Forget about the stinkin' RF or even VF. With such a huge tool, you can just point-and-shoot anything you want. 🙄

Yes, but remember the old saying, "big lens, small d**k". So the reverse being true, with the 45P, it's a wonder all those swimsuit models weren't smoozing up to you. Or aren't you letting on??

Yup, it's got the size but not the class..

If you want class, only Wetzlar satin chrome from the sixties will serve. I think this 15-bladed, dual-scale Elmar 50/2.8 fits the bill 🙂

I understand that the C/V chrome finish is paint. Is the same true of the ZM line? Chrome plating requires a brass barrel.

Well, my head was spinning from all the possibilities and I'd finally decided on either the 50mm Summilux pre-asph or the 35mm summicron asph, in chrome, of course. As luck would have it, a minty 35 asph cron was on sale on pnet last night. So my chrome M7 will soon be wearing this:
