Epimetheus
Well-known
I finally got my R-D1 yesterday after couple of years of dreaming about it. I had to sell two cameras and couple of lenses to finance it but I think it's worth it. I bought it from forum member RichC and it's in great condition and was packed like new.
Unfortunately I only have Jupiter-8 at the moment which seems to back focus badly so my experiments are quite limited. I have Nokton 40mm and Heliar 15mm on order so things are getting better.
Here are some photos from the first walk with it:

These are just test pictures, art comes later. In the vertical picture with the three pillars I focused on the first one and the last one seems to be in focus. That's how bad the Jupiter-8 is.
There are a lot more to this camera then these few points but these are just some observations I made during my first walk with this camera.
+ The camera is absolutely beautiful. It’s well made in will be a pleasure to own.
+ Shutter sound is very quite which is very nice.
+ It produces more "film like" results then my other digital cameras.
+ High ISO looks better then my DSLR (Konica Minolta Dynax 5D).
- Battery life is ridiculously bad. Good thing I have plenty of them.
- Picasa which I use to organize photos and generate web galleries doesn't recognize Epson files
- ISO is impossible to adjust with gloves on.
