Speak of the Devil
Don't you just hate waiting for items in the mail? Knowing someone, somewhere is throwing your parcel about, messing up the rangefinder.....
I am now waiting for 2 Barnacks, 2 lenses, multiple accessories, light meter, etc.
My wife is going to kill me if I dont stop buying stuff....
Waiting...:bang:

Heck, I'm waiting for someone to buy my camera so I can buy another. Man-O-man the monkey on my back just won't stay still. Looking at your list it looks like you need a real nice Elmar 50, hint, hint.....

Yep waiting sucks the big one...especially when you have to wait a week for something to travel halfway round the world from the northern hemisphere to south!...all the while hoping it even turns up.

One week! I've been waiting over a month for something to come from Canada to Australia air mail. Canada has the slowest mail service I've ever encounted.

I purchased the IIIF RD from Keith, it will end up going to the US from Australia, and then go to the Army postal system, then go to Iraq where I am...talk about traveling!

Photo bizz, suddenly you look much older??
Why is it that I can send a lend from Aus to Germany standard air and it gets there in 4 days and I still don't have my 35mm f1.2 from Canada? According to the tracking web site, it took 8 days for the lens to leave the country after it was checked in at post office. Are the Canadians still using a sled to get the mail out?

But don't you just love the feeling when it finally arrives?
I got a turret finder and J-12 lens this morning, all nicely parcelled up. It's like Christmas day!

Shooter of Film...
I was at home waiting for the UPS guy to deliver a Mamiya m645, which I had to sign for...Well I was home sitting about 25' from the front door...The guy came, never rang or knocked and assumed that no one was home so he just left a note saying that they "Tried" to deliver but no one was home and they would try again on Tuesday...Oh, forgot to mention that it was Friday and Labor Day weekend...
I called their customer's service recording and was told that they would hold the item for me for pick-up...between 8-9pm...
I got to UPS and I wasn't the only one there...not a good sign...there were about 20 others in line waiting...no happy campers...the truck just happened to back in and they called us to come outside and they would hand us our packages as they came off the truck...nice ending...I was the first one to get their package...I told the others "Good Luck" and drove home...

I been waiting since the start of July for a camera, and it isn't quite ready to be sent yet. I might have it by the start of October

Hows this!
Lat Friday night I "won" a *Bay auction where the item was only in South Australia, im in Victoria, its not a long way by Australian distances and our postal system is usually fairly good, especially between capital cities!
This monday morning I purchsed a Roger Lou change bag, he's in the UK remember, you know, like the other side of the world.
Guess which one has just turned up!!!!!!

I had sent a package with 12 rolls of film to a buyer in Singapore. It didn't get there until 2 months after I sent it. I was just as nervous as the buyer as I felt my reputation was on the line (though the buyer completely blamed it on Singapore's mail service).
