I believe few would argue the build and optical quality of the HRF and the Hexanon lenses. In my opinion the HRF is the M7 that Leica should have offered. But they didn't and now I have both.
I suspect there are HRF/Hexanon users on this forum who, like me, might appreciate more discussion of the HRF experience, Leica-Hex lens interchangeability, advantages/disadvantages, malfunctions and repair of same, third party offerings, etc.
Is the HRF community large enough to justify a separate forum? Opinions, please.

Think the reason is clear...
The Hexar RF is the finest, easiest to use, most complete rangefinder camera ever made so that there simply isn't much more to talk about.
Right?

The best camera is one that still works!
I think a Hexar forum would be advantageous ... and should incorporate the Hexar AF as well as Hexanon lenses to be fair!
And someone should lend me their Hexar RF so I can try my 35mm Hexanon on it ... just so I can see how it looks ... I'll send it back ... honest!

Actually I remember you mentioning to me that you had that ... you offered to swap it for something from memory?

I'm up for a dedicated forum.
I would have found it helpful when looking into buying one recently.

I agree we need a dedicated forum for this excellent camera and lenses. Ditto all previously stated reasons - Hexar RF is a "landmark" camera in many ways.

Would there be enough volume for it, though? I'm afraid postings in a new forum would simply drown in the sea of other stuff.
Also at present it's nice that the Leica M crowd is occasionally forced to realize that some of the best M cameras were/are made by someone else

Most Hexar owners seem to want a forum. Who cares if it doesn't get as much traffic as some forums? It's not as though we have to pay rent on it.
I found it a pain, that when thinking of buyng my Hexar there was no single place I could look for info.
More importantly I wasn't sure where best to post up any questions I might have, and so couldn't be sure that Hexar owners were seeing them.
IMHO

If every single type/group of camera has it's own forum, then yes. But there are too many fora already IMHO. So just put postings in the Leica M forum, because the Hexar RF is the best Leica Leica never built.

I'd love to see a Hexar forum. There is so much to talk about, especially wrt Hexanon lenses. Hey, Yahoo has one...

The question is visibility. If every single camera has its own forum, then the majority of people will never see the postings on those cameras, simply because you can't keep an eye on all the forums.Bobfrance said:Most Hexar owners seem to want a forum. At least with me it works that way that I read what's on the front page and what's in two or three forums which interest me. At the moment I get to read all the Hexar RF and Hexanon stuff because it happens in forums that are interesting to me. If there was a separate forum I would never read it. I think a lot of people read RFF in similar ways. So if a question gets asked in a Konica forum (for whatever reason) to which I know the answer, the question will go unanswered. To an extent the situation is already like this if you look at some of the smaller subforums here, and I don't think one needs to force it.
Overspecialisation is unnecessary IMHO. The result of overspecialisation will only be like those guys getting angry if you dare to discuss the use of Jupiter lenses on Nikon bodies in a Nikon forum. There's plenty of room already for this kind of discussion of Konica products. The Hexar RF is an M camera, and the Hexanon lenses are either Leica Screw Mount or Leica M Mount lenses, and so they could stay that way - just discuss things there. I wouldn't have a problem with the Zeiss Ikon discussions taking place in the Leica M forum, either. It's not like you can't talk about Hexanon screw mount lenses in the existing screw mount forum just because a large number of screw mount lenses isn't made by Konica.

The only Hexanons I have are the AR Hexanons for the SLR and the one on the little Konica C35. But they are no less sharp than their RF siblings.
I would also support a dedicate Hexar sub-forum.
One day I'll come across a lost Hexar AF

I would support a sub-forum as well. I have been in the market recently for one and had to dig up posts from all over.
A dedicated forum for discussion would certainly have more visibility. Just my 2 cents.

I vote yes on the forum. The more I shoot the more I end up shooting the Hexar RF and the Hexanon 50mm. ErikFive did you end up selling your Hexar kit?

I've been asking for a Hexar RF forum for a while now. but......I don't seem to be heard by the RFF gods.
