Totally agree. I saw an exhibit of 50 prints of him. Mainly the ones from his Africa series. Stunning is the word. His printer, as said earlier is a true genius too. On of the best IMHO.

When his "Exodus " exhibit came through Salt Lake City a few years, I had the rare opportunity to have an audience with several of his prints, prior to the exhibit.
I was a volunteer at the gallery that hosted the exhibit, and inspected the framed prints as we unpacked the for insurance purposes and what not.
The prints were probably some of the best I have ever seen.

The beautiful light rays seems to follow him around :)

Amazing work, thanks for the link. One more exhibition to watch out for locally.

These are incredible pictures. I saw some of the Exodus prints several years ago here in Santa Fe. Prints like these make me think that one need go no further than a Leica and a darkroom to produce real drama.

Seems to me his art is even getting better. A modern HCB. And apparently no cropping. Taking pictures all day long allow him to reach a superior technique. Also he is lucky to have a genius collaborating at the prints. Myself, sunday photog at best, have to print on my own with photoshop. Some pictures of many years ago still wait for the final release... Can't wait to retire and change all this

I find Salgado's work far more important than anything HCB ever did. This is the kind of work that inspires, shocks and delights. He uses small format photography to its best possible end.

Do you also think that Kennedy was more important than Picasso?
