I am looking for a VC meter II, anybody have one they don't use ... ?

I would appreciate any offers.

I will also be willing to exchange for a Gossen Sixtomat Digital in perfect condition

They usually go pretty quickly when posted here in the classifieds... At some point I think I'll get myself another one as they really are good meters. If you can't find a used one Monika I can fully recommend Stephen Gandy at Cameraquest... I bought one from him just before I left for a trip this summer & I recieved it within a couple of days! With VAT etc. issues that europeans seem to be subject to you might be better off buying from within the EU though?

Not with the amount of $$$ the mighty Euro/pound buys at the moment 😀
Heading for 2$ to the £ at the moment, extremely dangerous for someone with GAS as bad as I have...

For a not too expensive item like this, it's probably worth buying from Stephen Gandy; he posts via regular airmail, which usually arrives briskly without the interference of HM customs.I am in the fortunate position of being able to recalimn VAT, but that's what a very good friend of mine did for his VC II meter which arrived quickly and worked well, except that the dials get knocked out of position easily.

I have two of these and love them. The shoe mount is a godsend.

That said, I wish they would offer some kind of shoe "receiver" on a langyard so you put it around your neck and also easily use it "off camera" w/o the risk of losing it.

I've considered "butchering" an old Argus just for the shoe receiver to make such a thing.... 😉

Athena,

They do offer such an adapter :

It is very practical 🙂

As Tom says they do offer this, and I was thinking of getting one.

But you've given me a great idea - I'll butcher my knackered SLR for the hotshoe and stick it on some string.

cheers!

Take a piece of fine nylon cord, tie a loop in the end with a slip-knot, then loop it around the foot of the meter and tighten the slip-knot. Tie a loop in the other end big enough to go over your head.

Thanks Chris!

Thanks Chris!

This is just about perfect, but what about some kind of way to quickly switch between shoe mounted and around the neck, maybe thinner strong cord? braided fishing line?

Or this from the CameraQuest website:

VC Meter neck strap to use VC meter on neck strap $45.

I have one and it works great. It has a shoe that the meter slides into and that is attached to the strap that goes around your neck if you don't want the meter clipped into the camera's shoe.
