It's official, Canada has the slowest air mail service anwhere in the known universe!
I purchased a CV 35mm f1.2 from ThomasW_ last month and he promptly posted it as can clearly bee seen from the Canada Post log (thanks) on the 20th of August and Canada Mail took over a week to get it out of the country and now it has been 'enroute to destination' since the 28/08/2007.
I've since received a parcell from China of ERA film, (5 days to arrive) and an M2 from nikon_junkie in the USA, (5 days to arrive) both posted standard air mail, not courier.
Has Canada Post purchased the Spruce Goose to fly its air mail services and it is still trying to get air born?
Sorry for the rant but I had to get this off my chest.
Cheers Andrew. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Canada Post took less than 5 days from Canada to Australia for me. Was it sent as registered post, and can they chase it up through a tracking number?

I was told it needs to go undelivered for 3 months before they'll look for it, 2 months to go.

Wow, I'll ammend the my subject title to the '2nd slowest mail service'. Did you ever find out where they had been hiding for two years or were you to amazed to worry, Andrew?

depending on how it was shipped, "out of the country" might very well mean "loaded onto a container, due to ship out as soon as it's full."
Surface mail from Moscow to the central US can take three or four months most times, in my experience. It's always gotten here, but typically only after I've given up on it. Going the other way is not always so slow, but it can be. Your package hasn't actually left the country just because it's cleared the out-going process. It's still got to be loaded on a ship or plane, traverse the distance, and then clear whatever customs are necessary. I'm sure people in the military could share numerous stories about how long surface mail takes for delivery between continents.
