Interesting read, thx for posting. Many things new to me, including the plan to move back to Wetzlar.

I like what they said about starting a refurbishing company! The fact that sales of used were 4 to 1 compared to new.

Very interesting little article, looks like an exciting time for Leica in the next five years.

Very interesting article!
The Leica "RESTORATION SERVICE" is especially interesting, maybe Leica will be thinking about it`s loyal film and collector customers as well, if they really want to bring money BACK to LEICA build a modern Screw Mount camera too and they will have a hit like Nikon has had with that SP2000 etc.
(maybe a new age Leica IIIF or IIIG????)
Or make a new version of the M6 J!!!!!
Take the M3 styled body add the latest Leica MP tech inside and mass produce it as a "Retro" camera with the original Wetzlar engravings and they will have a SERGE of real film cameras again (and maybe in 3 to 5 years make a digital version when all the "BUGS" are out of the M8 design)
I`m waiting to see what Leica M digital`s going to do, I would`nt even think of buying an M8 now, it`s a waste of money, they won`t be worth half what they are asking in 2 years and buy then a better camera will have been made......with Leica and digital it`s still better to see what the future brings, just stinks we have to wait so long for a GOOD camera to come out, the M8 is just a novelity it`s not a proven camera, it`s going to be a orphan just like the M5 was, the camera AFTER the M8`s going to be the GREAT one!
Or really maybe they should really listen to us and bulid a DIGITAL M BACK.....why don`t they cash in on all the former customers interests and make sure that we STAY with Leica and keep using M system lenses, why don`t they listen, just think how many M3/M2/M4 and M6 owners would love to have a digital back for their camera.....
